The Department of Finance and Banking was established in August 1992.
In August 2006, the Department of Finance and Banking and the Department of Risk Management and Insurance jointly established the the Graduate Institute of Finance and Insurance.
In the academic year 2010-2011, the Graduate Institute of Finance and Insurance was renamed as the Master's program of the Department of Finance and Banking.
1. Wealth Management Program
With the vigorous development of Taiwan's economic growth and financial services, wealth management business is becoming more and more attention and business direction is from the traditional service mode, progress to the customer demand as the guidance, design personalized customized asset allocation and investment consulting, cover banking, securities, investment trust, the full range of interest, insurance and other professional financial planning services.
In response to the huge demand for talent in the wealth management business, the course is designed to equip students with the professional knowledge and skills needed to engage in global wealth management.

2. FinTech Program
With the popularization of mobile communication, social media and cloud technology, fintech is receiving increasing attention. Traditional financial services have developed from physical channels to digital financial services. Through big data analysis, customers' needs and behaviors will be better understood, and more efficient wealth management services will be provided.

Future Development
The Department develops individual students in considering trends of financial industry and society at large. Graduates are expected to work in banking, securities and futures, wealth management, insurance or corporate finance. Some students choose to attend graduate finance programs in Taiwan and abroad.
The Department at current provides ample resources in particular in wealth management and financial planning, as the profession is greatly needed in Taiwan and suits well with our student profile. This is evident in our course design and graduate placement. The Department seeks to keep up with developments in Taiwan's financial sector and its internationalization, with the goal to add to the competitiveness and fulfill the needs of Taiwan's financial industry.

Engaged in the front desk business of a bank, and because of the internship in a financial institution for the whole semester, I decided my career direction in advance, and got along well with the predecessors and colleagues of the institution.

During the study period, my academic performance was average, and I planned to continue to study, but due to military service and family factors, I finally chose to work as a financial broker in an otc securities company.
After entering the workplace, I understood the importance of financial certificates and licenses. Within 6 months after taking the job, I obtained the basic certificates and licenses required by the job, and my monthly performance was in the top half of the national ranking of the otc securities company on average, and my salary was higher than other students of the same year.

With excellent academic performance and enthusiastic service, I was favored by many domestic financial institutions and overseas enterprises. However, AFTER attending the explanation of a large insurance company and thinking about it, I finally worked as an insurance consultant
After entering the insurance consultancy business, Mr. IP tong Pan was commended by his supervisor for his personal qualities and hard work. Less than a year after his appointment, he was promoted and his salary was higher than that of his peers.
Students can work as interns in financial institutions (banks, securities, insurance, fintech companies, etc.)
